A Short Note Before Isaias
I’m writing this a little earlier than usual because Hurricane Isaias is expected to make landfall late Friday night into early Saturday along the northern Gulf Coast, with the center tracking near Pensacola, between Mobile and Fort Walton Beach.
Pensacola is under a hurricane warning, and hurricane conditions are expected Friday night into early Saturday. The storm could bring 5 to 7 feet of storm surge along the coast, including Pensacola Bay and Mobile Bay, along with 4 to 8 inches of rain and localized totals up to 15 inches. There’s also a tornado risk Friday night into Saturday.
My main concern is everybody’s safety, and that’s why this post is short. Please follow local officials and official weather sources for evacuation and safety information. Check the National Hurricane Center and your local National Weather Service updates rather than relying on this blog.
The music will still be here when the power comes back. I’ll be back to regular posts when things settle.
Stay safe, everyone.
